Mastering the Beauty of False Lashes For Mature Eyes

Mastering the Beauty of False Lashes For Mature Eyes

Many women believe that certain beauty trends have an age limit. And while it might be true for some products, false lashes can be used at any age. Many also get discouraged by unnatural, heavy feeling on the eyelids. Mature eyes are often hooded and skin elasticity is not the same as in young days, which makes putting additional weight of false lashes illogical. Trust me, this time logical thinking is your enemy because false lashes will make you look younger, your lashes fuller and longer, and bring attention to those beautiful eyes.

How to start wearing false lashes?

False lashes are a foreign object, stuck on your eye, which will feel heavy at first. However, the feeling will go away as your eyes will get used to it. You know how it’s said: “Practice makes perfect”. Let’s start training with smaller weights. No need to beat The Rock in your first workout.

There is no make-up tool that will make you look better than confidence. You don’t want to feel discomfort or be insecure about the way the lashes transform your eyes. Let your eyes get used to false lashes by getting a pair of light ones, that will make your eyes more vivid but won’t make you feel like you can’t open your eyes or unrecognizably transform your appearance. A good option for a natural look would be Amunet lashes from the Invisible Band collection.

You will need:

• False lashes
• Adhesive (lash glue)
• Tweezers
• Small scissors
• Lash curler (optional)
• Mascara (if your lashes are not dark naturally)
• Eyeliner
• Mirror (magnifying mirror will work the best)

Let’s start!

1. Customize

Cut off part of the lashes to make them even lighter. They will still enhance your look. Take a pair of small scissors and snap the band of the lash (never the lashes!) in two parts. It doesn’t have to be two equal parts. Before cutting, line up the lash with the outer corner of the eye and try to see what length would look the best. If you’re still not sure, consider snipping it at the center of the pupil. If your natural lashes are short, use the inner, shorter part of the false lash. This will make natural and false lashes to blend. Also, an aging face often has bags under the eyes and long lashes might drop shadows on the area emphasizing it.

Because mature eyes are often less open, you might want to have more lifting effect. For this, you might want to experiment with lining up your falsies a little bit away from the outer corner of the eye and towards the center.

2. Apply

The process of application isn’t complicated. If you own a lash curler, curl your lashes beforehand for the best effect. Additionally, put on some mascara to match the color of the false lashes. Then you will add adhesive (lash glue) to the band of the lash. Wait around 30 seconds for the glue to become less liquid. When sticking the lash, keep your eye open. Closing the eye will make it more difficult as a closed eye might create more wrinkles and the eye will make some movements as you try to keep the other one open. Use tweezers to align the middle of the lash on the right spot and place it on the skin just above your natural lashes. Remember it shouldn’t be glued to your natural lashes but don’t leave any gap between your lashes and the fake lash. When applying, keep false lashes facing up, it will create an extra lifting effect and make your eyes appear bigger. Stick the rest of the lash down and blend falsies with the natural lashes using a mascara brush.

3. Repeat on the other side

4. Finishing touches

The white glue will become transparent after it dries but if the false lash base is visible apply eyeliner to create a smooth transition.

So, how do you feel?

After you feel completely comfortable wearing light lashes, you might want to try different types of lashes. Experiment with fuller, longer, more curled, or maybe even colorful ones! Remember that lashes are not what makes you beautiful or increases your value. It’s simply a tool to make you feel better as it will give you a youthful and vivid look. It’s also a part of self-expression and a form of art.
